Location: Camden High Street
As usual, I'm way too early. Then, when I finally get there, exactly on time, I am deeply disappointed. I don't know what I expected but I'm not a fan of this being a small office with three people in it trying to let rooms in houses they own. Besides, it was expensive, £100 a week for a shared room that, granted, was bigger than the room at Seven Sisters, but the fact that this is just them pimping it out, not living there makes it unsympathetic.
I almost went through with it but I had these doubts in me that kept tugging at me and when I saw how much the actual amount for the whole time would be, when I saw the creation of an actual contract, I put a halt to it because I didn't feel comfortable with it. The location is far from superb, the room situation is not worth £100 pounds a week ... I just decided that I preferred to go with the top floor apartment above an off-license store. Because that's just me. I'll be paying half for the room. £55 a week. That's so much better. I've actuallz seen the place, not just pictures and I felt safe there, I know what to expect.
When I first got to Seven Sisters Road, that was not what I expected but now it's what I want. I just like it better than the weird little office that shows you pictures, accepts credit cards and makes contracts; that has many houses and something for different prices.
And yes, I am fully aware of the fact that my preference might have to do with them speaking Portuguese. It's a connection I would never make with people speaking German, I don't know what it is but when you realize that someone speaks Portuguese, it's just different which explains why he set things into motion for me to be able to live there for five weeks once he discovered that we had something in common.
