5 drabbles

Five women in Kev Darren's life and his relationships with them.

1. Lynn Skimmer: Maroon 5 - If I Never See Your Face Again

Suspension was a bitch.
So was saying goodbye - possibly forever.
Kev decided that he only wanted to deal with one of them which was why he tried to avoid saying goodbye to everyone but Lynn in particular. He couldn't explain what it was but for over the past few months he had developed a connection with her and now that he was leaving this would be lost forever.
They had never been physically close; there had been none to very moderate attraction that neither of them had ever acted on.
Kev secretly left the campus without saying goodbye, never expecting to see anyone again and without really having said goodbye.
He never turned back.
If he had, he might have seen Lynn standing by the window watching him as he left.

2. Mara Ivanov: Iron & Wine - Each Coming Night

"I'll miss you when you're gone," Kev announced over a drink.
"I won't be gone," Mara assured him. "Only married."
"That's worse than being gone, Mara. You'll be busy with your marriage and we won't ever be able to spend time together again. Your life won't ever be yours again; you'll always have to share it with someone else."
"Don't worry, little man, you won't get rid of me. I'm not like the average wife."
"I know you're not the normal woman. I just want to make sure that that never changes."

3. Lara Harper: Butthole Pirates - Dracula From Houston

It was frightening how Kev managed to go through life, leaving everything behind wherever necessary. But what truly frightened him was how Lara Harper managed to cramp his style in a surprisinly pleasant way.
Kev had learned that nobody lived forever fairly early on and wanted to do so much with his life but then Lara came along; a traitor with no real name who had sold him and his friends out ... and what did he do?
He fell for her.
Over and over again.
No matter how often he moved on; for some reason he always ended up coming back to her.

4. Kirana: Scissor Sisters - Filthy Gorgeous

Kirana wasn't your average girl. She wasn't too attractive but her insanity made her glow in a way Kev had never known a sane woman to glow.
"Wake up."
"What?" Kev moaned.
Kirana stood before him, all her things packed. "We're leaving."
"But ..."
"No buts! We're leaving."
Kev hated her for some of her impromptu actions but that was what made her so appealing.
He was a highly talented yound man but he was crazy about this dirty, sexed up, backpack traveling high school drop out.
Sometimes, when he settled doen for some time it scared him but with her, he didn't get the change to take a breath and do so very often.

5. Janna Solen: Rascal Flatts - Fast Cars and Freedom

Being with Janna imbued Kev with a youthful energy he had never lost but forgotten about. He had always enjoyed spending time with her but as she grew older (and as she moved in with him) he fully realized how much he actually cared about her; that he couldn't deny that he was in love with her.
"You're so old," Janna laughed as he taught her to drive his motorcycle.
"Oh yeah? So, tell me, why don't I feel old? I want a dissertation till Monday. Two pages."
Janna laughed. "You know you're not old at all, don't you? You look exactly how I think you should be. You'r perfect, Darren."
