“She wants me,” the brown-haired cowboy announced to his partner, Hobszilauszski, a slightly pale blond man who was nursing his drink, smiling wryly and following Janson’s gaze towards a girl with dark hair standing at a bar, a colorful cocktail in her hand.

“She doesn’t want you,” Hobbie disagreed after eying her for a minute.

“Of course she wants me.” Janson tilted his head, grinning. “Wanna bet?”

Hobbie hesitated but finally nodded. They were in Nevada, so he might as well take the chance and bet. “Fifty?”

“Sure,” Janson shrugged. “Whatever. I’ll win anyway.”

“Don’t be cocky,” the blond man advised although he knew that it was useless. He watched as Janson got up and walked over to the girl he had been looking at with his tumbler in one hand. While Hobbie didn’t know what Janson was saying, he had often heard his routine in charming a girl. He used his looks and confidence to his advantage, something Hobbie spotted right away.

Fifteen minutes later he had given up observing Janson’s advances, focusing on his third Scotch for the night, listening to the music playing in the bar. His attention was caught by a yell and Hobbie raised his head just to see the girl slapping Janson who finally seemed to catch the notion that she was in no way interested in him.

“She wants you, huh?” Hobbie asked when Janson slipped into the booth next to him.

Janson shot him an annoyed look and got a green bill out of his pocket, resting his hand on the table. Hobbie reached out for the hand and took the bill, his hand lingering on the cowboy’s a few seconds longer than necessary. “She doesn’t know what she is missing out on.”

I love to write those two because they are fun and I can write just about everything with them; especially short little stories.

I consider everything that is up to 500 words long a drabble. I'm not sure if the term if that's the right term but I just use it.
