when it comes to hobbie

When it comes to Hobbie, sex is not the most important thing for Wes – just the thing they do most frequently when alone. After the sex they fall asleep or talk about their most intimate problems: things they would not dare to talk about when dressed.
The sex is amazing and unlike anything Wes had experienced before; not because Hobbie is the first and only man he had ever slept with (and he intended to keep it that way) but because of a weird, giddy feeling inside; a feeling he didn’t understand.
The emotional bond they had formed within so little time surprises Wes, he has never been closer to anyone on any level and it seems as if he is close to Hobbie on every imaginable level. He still has sex with random girls he picks up in bars but flirting with them, kissing them, fucking them, it never feels as good as simply talking to Hobbie, nestling the other man’s blond hair or burying his face in his chest, eyes closed, the words leaving his mouth without him thinking about what he is going to say.
Hobbie gets to see what Wes has never allowed anyone else to see and he gets the same in return: stories about Hobbie’s childhood and his adulthood before first meeting Wes. They tell each other so much about themselves but Wes has long realized that he doesn’t have to know any of this to be able to read Hobbie, to know what Hobbie needs by just looking into his light blue eyes.
It is a friendship he cherishes very much; in fact he cherishes it so much that they don’t tell anyone about it, keeping it to themselves because Wes doesn’t want to share Hobbie with anyone and Hobbie doesn’t seem to care about such small things.
Sometimes Wes feels bad because both him and Hobbie know his real reason isn’t wanting it to be something private but the fact that he is embarrassed about this friendship that just can’t be reconciled with the beliefs he has been brought up with and although he wishes he were more flexible about it, he knows it will take time for him to accept it. Hobbie deserves to be appreciated for sticking with Wes, seemingly not minding his behavior, but Wes will never tell him all of this because he is selfish and because he is afraid that he might lose Hobbie.

I think it´s love, true love, but it´s kinda sad that Wes is still not able to stand by Hobbie just due to the way he´s raised or told or anything else. But at least Wes know that he needs Hobbie and that´s a good start until he knows or admit to himself where his place is (thinking of the random girls).
