Worlds & Planets
Apr. 24th, 2008 04:41 pmMy sister loves this one.
“I think that I’m from another planet far, far away.”
“I’m sure you are.”
“Look, my home planet is somewhere in the sky. I think it’s that bright thingy over there.”
“That’s Antaris.”
“Oh … then it’s one of these other stars. It’s somewhere out there and I can never go back there. I was banished for being too awesome.”
“That’s a likely reason for someone to be banished.”
“Somewhere, there is a planet called Westopia where fifty-two percent of the population are just like me and the rest of the population consists of stuffed animals.“
“Why fifty-two percent of people like you?”
“That’s what Kev always wants to know. He always thinks forty-two is a better number.”
“I agree. At least that would mean that the majority of Westopia would be normal ... or as normal as stuffed animals can be.”
“In Westopia, people would love you. You would be some great hero they would write those history books you like to read about.”
“Heh. I get to be awesome. I like that. What about Kev?”
“He gets to be a nerd … Kinda like here on Earth. I think that there are Kevs on every planet and they are always these genius minotiries who don’t get to have a planet for themselves.”
“He’ll be happy to hear that.”
“And God would be a teddy bear.”
“Isn’t that blasphemous?”
“In Westopia, there are no big words I don’t understand.”
“Then the vocabulary of a Westopian is very limited.”
“That’s why they think people from Hobbstopia are fun to hang out with.”
“There is a Hobbstopia?”
“Yub. There, everyone is sick and lives in a hospital and everyone has seven toes and they have huge libraries with nothing but history books in the hospitals.”
“Hello, dystopia.”
“Who is that?”
“Forget it. Why am I not on Hobbstopia?”
“The Hobbstopians have one problem. They want to be unique and when the babies are born, they are put in spaceships and sent to other planets so they aren’t surrounded by people like them and fit in because they don’t feel comfortable when they fit in. Your parents sent you here and your Earth parents found you and adopted you, not knowing you were a Hobbstopian.”
“Well, I’m glad I’m here, then.”
“So am I. Westopians and Hobbstopians have gotten along very well from the moment they met.”
“Then it’s good we found each other here on Earth.”
“It’s the only reason I wouldn’t return to Westopia I could.”

“What planet is Face from?”
“Hollywood, of course.”
