Music Drabbles: Misfits Part II.
Jun. 28th, 2008 09:52 pmKenneth Tanner: Yellowcard - Believe
There had been a time in Kenneth's life when he hadn't believed in a higher power. Back then, he had acted erratically even though his job should have prevented him from doing so. It was only when Kenneth Tanner had found faith, when he had found God, that he had realized how he should be living his life. Believing had helped him to overcome some of his greatest problems even though he had been in a difficult spot at the time.
He knew he could not amend for what he had done before finding God, but he could try to live life to its fullest according to God from now on and that was his goal. Of course, God tested him in the most difficult ways but he would not give up. He had to fight; he had to believe and although he felt an attraction to Tyler or hated Janson, these things wouldn't keep him from walking the path that God had chosen for him.
It was very tempting to give in to his love or hatred though. And sometimes, God was so far away ...
Jane Foster: Maroon 5 - Shiver
Jane was a girl who considered herself hard to get and she was prouud of it. Her sister had always been the easy one and even though she would probably never see her sister again, she wanted things to stay the way they were. She was playing hard to get even though for the first time in her life it was really difficult. She only had to hear Tom's name and her heart would start racing. His touch was something she couldn't get enough of. He wasn't the perfect man, but for some reason, Jane felt attracted to him in a way that she knew she shouldn't. He had gotten under her skin so quickly and he wouldn't leaver her now -- not that she wanted him to.
Wes Janson: Fool's Garden - Lemon Tree
Sometimes, life was boring. Not even Wes Janson's life was an exception. He could have done so much today but they were in lockdown -- again. Kev was writing with his girlfriend and annoyed Wes by humming some stupid song. He hated that Kev was in love.
He stared at calendar that had a weird photograph of a tree with strange yellow fruit on it that Wes could not recognize. It didn't look like it could grow in real life; only in calendars. And who would want to eat such a yellow fruit anyway? It looked toxic; possibly even worse than toxic.
For some reason, he couldn't get the picture out of his head. He hated this silly fruit.
Lynn Skimmer: Starlings, Tennessee - The Birds, The Bees, The Girl, And Me
"What are you thinking about?"
"Jane told me that she can picture herself spending the rest of her life with Doctor Death. "
"She's in love. Do you blame her?"
"I just don't understand what it is about him. Or Kev for that matter. I helped him break up with his girlfriend and here he's with another one already."
"Some of us are fools for love. Not you, though."
"I don't have time for that kind of thing."
"Maybe that's your problem."
"Who would want me anyway?"
"I'd break up with my girlfriend for you any day."
"You don't do girlfriends, Janson. You do sex."
"Well, for you, I'd give a relationship a try."
"You're such a charmer. But I won't take you up on the offer."
Tom Brennan: The Decemberists - Ask
Love as a concept Tom didn't understand. He was a materialist. He cared about his looks and money. He didn't care about emotions. But if he didn't, then what was it he felt for Jane Foster? Because that certainly felt like love. It felt so much like it that he didn't even try to talk himself out of it. He pursued her because although he knew that her life could be so much easier without him around, he also knew that there was nobody on his planet he could be happy with if he let the chance of being with Jane go. He knew all this after their very first conversation with such a certainty that it frightened him but he didn't listen to it. He was too much in love and trying to figure out how he could convince that woman that he would be perfect for her, even though he was a killer.
Kev Darren: Julie Collins - Simple Things
Kev wasn't one who was interested in playing games. He had gotten over that when he had been twelve years old.
Lynn sat on his bed laughing and he couldn't help himself but to join her.
"How did I do?" she asked.
"You were amazing although you might have warned me about your plan to help me break up with her." He sat down next to her. He would have liked to say that he was upset by the fact that Lynn and Face had broken up his relationship with his girlfriend but for some reason he wasn't. He was thankful. They had played a trick on him but he knew that they had also made his life a lot easier.
