SDCC08: Lost Panel

- A new Alternate Reality Game was launched. Hans Van Egen was present to introduce it.

- The Island did not move in the season 2 finale.

- Both Locke (Terry O'Quinn) and Jin (Daniel Dae Kim) will be on the show in some form.

- Season 5 (2009) and season 6 (2010) will have 17 hours. There was no information given about the season finales being two hours long.

- Carlton and Damon dodged the question about a Rousseau flashback but her story will be told in season 5.

- The storytelling will move away from flashbacks. Flashbacks and flashforwards will still be part of the show but another method of storytelling will be introduced.

- Shooting will start in August and the episodes will be shown back to back as had been intended for the forth season.

- The other writers know almost everything although not all details.

- Vincent survived the season 4 finale and will most likely make it to the very end.

- The Jack/Sawyer/Kate triangle will be a part of the show until the very end. (who would have guessed?)

- Matthew Fox joins Damon and Carlton on the panel.

- Kate and Sawyer will see each other again, a question that Matthew Fox feigns annozance about.

- Faraday and "the five people that never said a line on the show" may or may not be back. Damon says you should be more worried about the background characters. The zombie season will reveal why Faraday is wearing a tie on the Island.

- The question about how far into the future the storytelling will go is dodged. When season 5 starts, you will not know where and when you are. The organization will change slightly and the story will be told in different periods of time. 

- When asked how the show ends, the writers say they can't answer that.

- Daniel's notebook includes things that already happened or will happen in the near future and will feature heavily in season 5.

- Not everything was planned out from the very beginning but the general idea has always been there. The story has to be moved forward but the end is set more or less in stone.

- Richard Alpert is "quite old" and aging on the Island is a different process. A lot more will be revealed about Richard. Richard will be seen barefoot "in the very near future".

- "Are the people on the Island being watched?"

- One of the recruits shows up with the information he was shown on a camera in a very dramatic way. But it isn't on video:(

 

The DHARMA video:

- Wickmund's real name is Pierre Chang. He is a professor of theoretical astrophysics in Michigan.

- A baby can be heard crying.

- He was brought to the Island years ago.

- He records this 30 years ago and knows about George W. Bush, knows about the internet and knows he is dead because of a Purge that everyone is unable to escape. The source (Dan fucking Faraday???) is very credible. It is important that the DHARMA Initiative be reconstituted. It is not of the essence, it is the essence.
