The Dark Knight Rises
Jan. 25th, 2011 07:55 pm I made a post saying that I couldn't see Heath Ledger as the Joker when that was first announced and we all know I was wrong because that performance was so utterly amazing. But I'm going to do the same thing with the Dark Knight Rises cast in hopes that the same thing happens and Christopher Nolan proves to be as amazing as I think he is.
The villain is Bane. Fucking Bane, one of the lamest villains of all time who broke Batman's back in the 90s and looks like a wrestler on steroids. He was in the Batman & Robin movie as a side-villain / lackey and he was basically a wrestler on steroids, not that that mattered because the movie was so bad anyway. And Shinzon is playing Bane. I've only seen Tom Hardy / Shinzon in Star Trek: Nemesis (a movie Matze thinks is amazing -- I disagree). He was the clone of Jean-Luc Picard and didn't really look anything like him. I think they just cast some bald guy. He wasn't that bad in it; I actually found him interesting and the picture of him on Wikipedia isn't bad. Can't see him as Bane though maybe that means that Nolan's Bane won't be a wrestler on steroids but something interesting? I can hope, right?
Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Meh. She's hot, no doubt and she'll be a million times better than Halle Berry but I'm not sure. I think I would have been more receptive to that had I not found out about Bane first.
