summary: Roy and Allana sneak off to be by themselves.

His father’s car’s backseat wasn’t the most classy place Roy could think of but he knew as well as anyone that desperate situations required desperate measures and if this wasn’t a desperate situation, then Roy really didn’t know what was.

It had all started out as a normal outing to one of Arkham’s meadows with a handful of friends and Rhea and Allana; Roy hadn’t expected anything eventful to happen. He had sat around with some friends, turning down whatever alcoholic beverage he was offered – after all he was his sister and cousin’s designated driver – and laughed with them, flashing glances at Allana who was sitting around with Rhea and a couple of girls, gossiping. He noticed that the redhead mostly kept quiet, not knowing what to say around these girls – neither of her parents was much of a crowd’s people, that much he knew.

His sister placed her hands on his shoulders, kissing his cheek and he smelled the booze on her breath.

“Hey sis,” he greeted her. “What are you girls doing over there?”

“Well, they are talking about you,” she giggled. “They think you’re hot, so if you want to you can get over there and hit on them.”

Roy laughed at his sister, knowing pretty well that she wasn’t lying. He was aware that some of the girls liked him quite a bit but right now he wasn’t interested in any of them; not when he was spending time with a girl none of his high school friends could ever hope to be like.

“What are you and Lana up to?” he asked her as he pulled her into his lap to many of the others’ surprise. They weren’t quite used to the siblings’ closeness.

“You want to take care of her for a bit? I want to spend some time alone with Gabe.”

Roy rolled his eyes. “Well, go be with your boyfriend then and tell him if he’s planning to sleep with you, he’d better use a condom.”

Rhea kissed his cheek again then motioned for Gabe who was sitting close to them to help her up, laughing when he did.

“I’m gonna check on my cousin,” Roy told his friends as he got up.

“Be a real friend and bring her over here!” someone yelled and Roy almost told him off but decided to ignore the comment at the last second.

Allana was sitting among the other people quietly, hugging her legs while teenagers were laughed, talked and drank all around her.

“Come on, let’s take a walk.” Roy held out his hand for Allana who took it, both of them quite aware of a couple of the girls watching them curiously without saying a word. “We might be heading home,” he grinned at one of the girls he knew liked him and she smiled at him widely.

“You’re popular,” Allana said when they had distanced themselves from the group.

“I know. And I don’t care what they think of me.” Roy reached for her hand and lifted it to his lips, kissing it. “You’re by far the most amazing among them.”

Allana laughed. “You’re a charmer, you know that, Royston?”

He joined her laughter, pulling her into the forest so people wouldn’t see them, then he drew her towards him to kiss her. They had stayed away from each other for the last couple of days, not had a minute for themselves and that only made it better.

“Will the others notice we’re gone?” Allana asked, breaking the kiss but still holding on to Roy.

“Didn’t you see me take care of that? They’ll think we went home if we don’t come back, so if you want to enjoy yourself with me a bit, then we can.”

Allana smiled at him. “Good, then let’s do it.”

She started fumbling with the buttons of his shirt, obviously wanting to sleep with him right there.

“Hold on, hold on,” Roy whispered. “There are enough people here to stumble upon us. We should go somewhere more secluded. Besides, I’m not like your parents; I don’t like sex in the open.”

“You would know, wouldn’t you?” Allana asked allowing him to lead her in the direction of the road he had parked the car on. “You’ve never done it outside. It’s probably more comfortable than in a car.”

“How would you know that? You’ve never had sex in a car,” Roy teased back. “Although we probably could ask Rhea if we don’t want to find out for ourselves.”

“She’s going over to her boyfriend’s house, so unless you want to call and piss her off you really shouldn’t.”

“She’s staying over at Gabe’s? I thought we’d have to pick her up. That’s even better. This way the others will just assume we left.”

Roy started running, expecting to have to drag Allana along but he seemed to have forgotten that she had always been able to outrun him. Even if some things had changed between them; that surely hadn’t.

He opened the car and let her climb in first, following her.

“We could get caught in here, you know,” he started. If it were up to him, he would still have preferred for them to go home, do it quietly in his room behind locked doors because that was risky as well but his parents respected his privacy and would assume that he was with someone else. They never checked on him or his sisters anymore since his father had walked in on Rhea and Gabe – not that there had ever been much to walk in on with Roy, at least not until now.

“Your friends are drunk, Roy,” Allana simply reminded him, unbuttoning his shirt. “If they see any movement, they’ll just assume you hooked up with someone. Don’t worry about it, love.”

Roy rolled his eyes, wondering how Allana could be so casual about all of this. If they got caught, they would be in big trouble. His parents might be liberal but they surely wouldn’t tolerate their son’s involvement with his cousin and neither would her parents who would certainly find out if word got out.

Before Roy could say anything else, Allana had pulled his t-shirt off and started kissing him and Roy’s head cleared of all the dangers they were exposing themselves to. To his annoyance she wasn’t wearing a short-sleeved blouse like she often did which always made undressing easier for him and now the long-sleeved tight shirt that he had admired before was a slight problem because it made undressing her more difficult.

“If we start doing this on a regular basis, you’d better start wearing blouses and skirts, Lana,” he growled as she helped him to rid her of her top and he proceeded to peel her out of her tight jeans. As hot as she looked in tight clothes, getting her out of them was problematic.

After getting dressed, Roy and Allana drove home. They couldn’t fully contain their excitement although Allana did a much better job at it than Roy.

“What if my dad catches on to it? He might be able to smell it.”

“Don’t worry, darling. I doubt he will and even if he does he’ll assume it was Rhea,” Allana promised, putting her hand on his thigh.

“But he would talk about it with her and –“

“And she’s clever enough to figure out that it was you,” Allana nodded. “Exactly. And she’ll try to figure out who you were with but she’ll give you time.” She pointed to the window of the house that housed Kev’s office.  “Your dad’s still awake and I think he’s seen us in the driveway. We should get in. You don’t want him to get the wrong impression, do you?” She winked at him and pulled her red hair back so that nobody would see how tangled it was.

Roy got out of the car and they walked towards the door as if nothing had happened like they had done ever since the first kiss they had shared.

Kev greeted them without looking up, asked where Rhea was and the two of them went into their rooms without as much as telling each other good night. Sometimes they did sneak into each others’ rooms at night but tonight it wasn’t going to happen. Not when Kev was pulling a late shift. But maybe in the morning …
