Crack AU

I've officially flashed out the Crack AU story that will be sixteen parts long. I'm not sure when I'll start writing it but wow, a few things that came into it made me go, "where the hell did that come from?". We're talking about negociating about the soul of firstborn children, insulting of lots of religions, bureaucracy and hierarchy of a place that doesn't exist and a ton of references to Goethe's Faust that will probably not make sense to anyone but me but that made me so, so happy while working it out and I realized that the story wouldn't work without getting Mephisto into it. A cracky, silly story and I bring Mephisto, one of the most awesome, well-spoken, perfect characters in literature. Yes, I think I can officially call it Crack AU now as Hellish AU would give too much away, I guess.

It sounds like it's going to be fascinating (although I might have to get Fynn to help me with the Faust references). I'm looking forward to it. :)

I'll try to keep the Faust references light and understandable and explain what could be hard to understand. But if I'm writing a crazy AU where I send half of my characters to hell, I can't do that without some Faust and Divine Comedy references although I'll be mostly sticking to Faust because of my unhealthy love for it.

It's just going to be full-blown humor with an absolutely ridiculous plot making fun of just about everything including fast food restaurants that play a surprisingly large role for a story set in hell XD

And I repeat that I am looking forward to it~ Explanations would be marvelously convenient and I thank you in advance.

(Fast food restaurants and Hell? What does that remind me of... *thinkthinkthink* *blink* Okay, those two plot devices weren't very connected, but at any rate... Have you ever read Good Omens?)

Can't say I have.

The Faust thing is limited to a part or two pretty much at the end.

If you want to, I'll show you the first draft of the first chapter once I'm done with it so I can get some early feedback on it. And I see a very obvious connection between Hell and fast food but that's just me...

It is very good and odd and is about an angel and a demon who misplace the Antichrist and end up having to either arrange or prevent Armageddon. *recommends it at you*

I'd be happy to look at it! And may I ask what that connection is? (Maybe I'm just being oblivious because I don't have much exposure to fast food, as it's mostly something I run into in the summer when I go North -- there isn't much here.)

The connection is I hate fast food basically and so do a couple of my characters and if Hell is about the worst things in existance, then fast food should be very popular in Hell.

I'm half-done with the first chapter and will send it to you. It's pretty much only picking on Wes and setting things in motion.

Another Faust fan? Who's putting Mephisto into their story? *blinkblinkrandomhug!* :D

I grew up with Faust. When other kids were taught nursery rhymes, I was taught the Hexeneinmaleins and it took me years to realize it wasn't a nursery rhyme. My dad would randomly recite passages of Faust and I watched various recordings of the stage play, both abbreviated and in its full version, read the first part three times although I haven't had time for the second part yet.

As it is a complete crack fic, Mephisto will be slightly cracky as well (I'll show you my notes on him if you want to). I put Faust on a pedastel but if I'm writing a story set in Hell, Mephisto has to be in it and I can't to Goethe justice by writing Mephisto the way he is, so instead, it'll have to be cracky.
