Jacen Solo is now a Sith Lord and needs a name.
So, there is this contest where readers can choose a name. The top five names that can be chosen are:
Darth Acheron (a river in hell for those who deny justice)
Darth Caedus (battle of darkness)
Darth Judicar (the final judge)
Darth Paxis (bringer of peace)
Darth Taral (the protector)
Acheron sounds very intriguing, especially because of the menaing, but it's a bit too long and it didn't sound good with the "Darth". I thought a shorter name would be better. I just didn't like it, didn't fit Jacen. At least not the Jacen I used to love.
Caedus insinuates a battle of darkness and ... I don't know. Caedus sounds good and all, but I ... I can't associate it with Jacen.
Judicar's meaning is cool, but you can feel immediately that it has something to do with "judge" and it's just too obvious. I don't see Jacen thinking of himself as a judge.
I didn't like Paxis, the meaning was too obvious and sucks and I just didn't like it.
Taral sounded good and the meaning can be seen in a lot of different ways, it also fits with Jacen, so that's what I voted for.
I have to admit that I have tuned out of the Star Wars EU since the end of the New Jedi Order because it has become too strange. Jacen is too powerful and I don't like the direction everything is taking. I like the Tenel Ka angle, but I'm not satisfied with Luke becoming a Grand Master or the Solos and the Skywalkers falling out. Also, time has passed too quickly, Han, Leia and Luke are too old, they can't live forever and even the kids are getting old, being in their early thirties by now. I just don't like it. There are interesting elements, but there are too many I don't like.
