Captain America #25

nathaliaI just read this review (spoiler warning for Captain America #25) and I have to admit that I'm shocked.
It seems as if Cap was shot by a sniper. And I'm thinking: Did they really kill him? If so, I'm totally shocked. Cap is such a powerful character, his publicity has been hyped so much recently and they kill him off?! I hadn't expected for either Tony nor Steve to die for one reason: people would expect a big death. So when no big a-list character died in the Civil War minis, I thought this was it and now this happens. I hadn't been expecting this.
I know Steve will eventually be back, I don't know if he even is dead, he could have just sustained fatal injuries, I don't know. And I really want to know.
Brubaker really is a genius. I love what he has been doing with Cap, bringing back Bucky. It's a very controversial story, but I liked it and this one is huge. I really, really want to know what happened, if Cap's really dead. I need a real summary of the issue. I'm going to head out and look for one.
EDIT: So, Marvel has officially stated that Steve Rogers is dead. There's even a scan.
I love that Cap wasn't killed in the minis but in his own title. It makes sense. People thought it was all over and then ... Also, if they killed Cap off in the minis, outside the character's solo title, that would be very stupid. I think it's noticable how exited I am. I'm off to read the statement by Marvel.
