Ralph and Sue Dibny

This is a very emotional, personal piece of writing that I just felt compelled to do due to very personal reasons I don't want to reveal because they are very private. 
This is about humanity and Ralph and Sue Dibny.

Turns out that he wasn't the Ralph Dibny to her Sue Dibny and unless you are Ralph and Sue, things can tear the two of you apart while not even death was able to seperate the Dibnys who are now happily reunited working as ghost detectives.

But that's not how it usually works out -- because usually things don't work out at all -- and people's hearts are broken. How many times has it happened since the existence of humanity? It's impossible to tell, maybe it's better that we'll never be able to know the exact number because that would make us hate Ralph and Sue because they have what we can't have and I'm not talking about a membership in the Justice League.

When Sue and Ralph first met, they did not know what their future would look like, what twists and turns it would take, that they would be together even beyond death. They thought that getting to know this person better wouldn't be that bad of an idea and from there things built up slowly. They weren't born known that they were made for each other and before they discovered it, they probably got their hearts broken by investing too much into someone that would eventually dump them. I'm sure there were instances when Sue or Ralph thought about giving up what they had when they were facing some hardship, but they sticked together which makes them different from most of us who run away when they see dangers threatening them or the one they love -- because deep down we are only human and humans are cowards as we have known for as long as humanity exists.

That's why you either love or hate -- if not both at the same time -- Ralph and Sue Dibny, because they have something you yearn for yourself knowing that you will never get it. Depending on how we see it, what we are going through, our view of Ralph and Sue and everything that they are can change.

They are a manifestation of our hopes, our wish to find someone with whom we can share what they share.

They are a manifestation of our fears, our fright of never finding someone with whom we can share what they share.

They are a manifestation of our dreams, our illusion that there is actually someone with whom we can share what they share.
