Dean Winters as Wes

I am not totally sure about this one, but it's the closest I've ever gotten to feeling that someone could be Wes.

First, an explanation: I have a problem recociling the image I have of Wes with any real person I know. The same goes or Hobbie or Face, so I'm constantly on the lookout. I picture Wes as a handsome man but not in the way that he would catch your eye right away or in an intimidatingly handsome way. It's more of the average looks with something you can't quite place that makes him special, that makes women fall for him and this is mainly attributed to his charm and looks.

When watching "Oz", one of the charactes, Ryan O'Reily, a con of Irish descent (Dean Winters) caught my eye and without really knowing why, I felt that he was somewhat likeI pictured Wes although O'Reily is not like Wes at all. First of all, he has Irish ancestors which Wes doesn't. O'Reily backstabs and manipulates and is always up to something which makes him a very cool character who rarely loses his temper and always has a plan. This doesn't sound like Wes at all. The only thing the two have in common is that they are homophobes, something I don't think O'Reily could ever overcome, though. Very much unlike Wes.



 


Because the characters are so different and although I like O'Reily he isn't very likable, it took me some time to make the connection. I think it helps that Winters steals the scenes he is in like I'd picture Wes to do. And he is fucking handsome.
