American Pycho

Heute bei T€di habe ich Silly ablenken müssen, während Isi und Ali ihr Geburtstagsgeschenk gekauft haben, wobei wir die Videos angeschaut haben und was findet Silly? -- Die Verfilmung von Bret Easton Ellis' "American Psycho", einem geilen Buch, das auch eklig und verstörend ist.
Ich wollte den Film anschauen, weil der Inhalt sich sehr interessant angehört hat und Christian Bale heiß ist. Aber es war eben ein Video und ich war mir nicht sicher, Silly hat mich dann dazu überredet, weil es nur 1€ gekostet hat und Willem Dafoe <3 mitspielt. Christian Bale und Willem Dafoe.
Jetzt komme ich nach Hause und hole das Video aus dem Schulranzen und dann fällt mir etwas auf, etwas Entsetzliches, bei Videos kann man die Sprache nicht verstellen! Ja, ich weiß, DVDs gibt es noch nicht so lange, aber ich habe mich einfach daran gewöhnt, alles in der Originlsprache anzuschauen und mir ist plötzlich klargeworden, dass die scheiß Sprache ja nicht umzustellen ist. So ein Scheiß.
Ich rege mich nicht nur darüber auf, dass es auf deutsch ist, sondern, dass ich so blöd war und nicht daran gedacht habe, als ich das Video gekauft habe. Mann, ich könnte mir den Kopf an die Wand schlagen, wie dumm bin ich eigentlich? Das hätte mir doch sofort einfallen müssen.
Ich werde den Film natürlich anschauen, denn ich will Christian Bale und Willem Dafoe sehen, aber ich werde im Nachhinein wahrscheinlich die englische Version anschauen. Das gleiche gilt für "Uhrwerk orange" (oder wie auch immer der Film auf deutsch heißt). Ich werde es mit meinem Vater, der es auf Video hat (er ist ein großer Kubrik-Fan), anschauen und früher oder später werde ich es auf englisch anschauen. Ich weiß nicht, ich habe mich einfach so sehr daran gewöhnt.
Aber das ich nicht daran gedacht habe, als ich das Video gekauft habe ...

Apologies to Ledger

I really need to apologize to Heath Ledger for bitching about him being casted in the Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight. Many people, mainly the ones who are in direct contact with me, have heard me rant about it. The last time was actually today at school because I decided to wear my Joker t-shirt I bought in London and of course I had to rant about it and then, when I was checking out Newsarama, I find a small article of a picture of Heath Ledger as Joker and I have to admit that I am totally taken aback by it and everything I said before is ... well, gone. The image just blew me away.

This isn't the fun Joker we had in Batman where he was played by the wonderful Jack Nicholson. This is the psychotic Joker that I love. The dark one, the one that fits in with the movie than any silly portrail and this looks ... it just fits the context. It fits in with the gritty, dark mood of the first movie that tries to be as realistic as possible.
The Glasgow smile also remings me of what Grant Morrison and John van Fleet have currently done to Joker, giving him a somewhat different, more dangerous look:



You can see some similarity, at least I can.

And the irony is that of all days, today I'm wearing my Joker shirt and that I ranted about Ledger today and now suddenly I changed my mind and want to see the movie. I'm eager to see it.

(Note to self: I need to make plenty of Joker icons just because of this and upload them.)

EDIT: I just found another picture of Ledger as the Joker that I couldn't refrain myself from posting as well.
It looks darker and different, especially with the black lips, but I have to admit that the concept is intriguing because unlike Lex Luthor, who you can't do too much wrong with, you can do a lot wrong with my other favourite DC villain.

BOGY Report

Yay. I managed to write about half of the BOGY report today and tomorrow I'll be finishing that and looking for scissors and glue so I can do the last bits on my reading diary.
The BOGY report is not the way it was before. The whole structure has changed quite a bit. I am not working on it linearly, because I'm never able to write something from start to finish, I am done with the introduction, day 2, day 3 and the final conclusion. Day 1is halfway done and I've started day 4, so I need to complete those and do day 5 which will be very short anyway. And then I might do a short recap before the conclusion, I'm not sure, it depends on how much time I have left after having fucking lost my complete report.
Tomorrow, I have an ethics exam which sucks because due to all the stuff going on right now I didn't have time to study for it, yet, but I know Hobbes well enough, so there's only some Schopenhauer and Sokrates basically and I can do that during arts or lunch break.
