I hit 40k today writing 2,284 words which came out of me pretty fluently. Demyan has gone completely crazy by now or so it is assumed and the story told in the forth or fifth chapter which involved only the four children are now revealed to be centered on Demyan's kids. I'm loving this part of the story, the youngest son finally got a name I don't keep forgetting and that has an actual meaning to it. Basically, everything seems to be uncovered now. All of the secrets except for one. he crystal. It's also interesting to note that I had something planned out perfectly with the story ending with the Old One telling Demyan something about fate but I don't think the story will go that way because I already passed that mark and it's going so well without it. Maybe I can put that in the epilogue, it would work and be a nice parallel to the prologue that is written from "Báleyg's" point of view. So he could start and finish off the story, tying the loose knots together.

I also finally caught up with Y - The Last Man and I am dying to read the last issue. This series is so incredible I'd like to coerce friends into reading it but I don't think I'll succeed. But it is a fantastic piece of literature and I love how the characters, particularly Yorik, 355 and Hero develop over the course of the story. And it sure helps having a Russian spy who's English "isn't bad - it's annihilated" (to quote Ciba Weber, another character) who is named Natalya of all things. Not only does Natalya's lack of English skills amuse me, she is the total opposite of me in many ways (with her horrible English, for example).

I have to read "The Portray of Dorian Gray" till next Saturday but haven't found my copy that seems to be lost in my bookshelf like so many other books, but Mathis is going to lend me his that as he pointed out on Saturday looks really fancy.

As for Wanted, the ideas are flowing out perpetually. The two triangles, Laurie, Drake and Ford as well as Heather, Johnny and Scott are both becoming more interesting and having a rude Englishman who is way older than the rest of the cast is just perfect and makes Kat an awesome character. Also, I have been working out what makes the two triangles different: Heather knows what she wants, she is not an airhead, she had a life that isn't all about who she is with. Laurie on the other hand experienced some angsty stuff and she had always been all over Ford, wanting him, loving him, a drama queen of sorts, quickly losing interest in something once she has it and standing between Drake and Ford, she doesn't know who it is she is looking for. Heather knows that she needs to change something in her life and like Laurie, she doesn't only have a former lover helping her with it, but also someone she never expected to and they are both trying to get to her heart but she isn't angsty, she takes matters into her own hands and is the independent girl with career perspectives and unlike Laurie, she doesn't feel like she can't live without a man in her life. The third protagonist, Kat, is with a guy nobody would ever have expected to see her with, who is unbearable but whom she loves and her former boyfriend who still isn't over her tries hard to make her see the Englishman isn't the one for her but the harder he tries, the more she sees how the Englishman is the one. It's just a nice story about teenagers, no baggage like with the Misfits who are taking a break (it sounds incredible but it's true)
How awesome is it that a character in Y: The Last Man is a Russian blonde called Natalya Zamyatin? I know, I'm not too excited about the last name, either, but heck, she's Russian and her name is Natalya. That's enough to make me happy. I love Russian characters (I know how obvious that is. Mariya, Sergey, Yelena and Ilya are all characters which can be used to prove that) and there is one with my name. Never thought that I'd love Russian that much just because my name is Russian.
After reading so much good stuff about Seagle and Cooney's "American Virgin", I sat down to read it yesterday and I've read all nineteen issues now and, man, it's great. It's deep, it's perverted, it's fun, it's cute ... There is so much about it. At first I thought, "What the heck?" because well, I wouldn't be able to save my soul according to Adam because I am not a virgin. It will be a year since I lost my virginity soon. Anyway, the idea was kind of weird because the guy is so super-religious, but after a while I really got into it. I mean, nineteen issues in two sittings are quite an achievement for something I wasn't very sure about to start with.

I read that it will be cancelled and that makes me really sad because I feel like there is no fucking reason to cancel such an awesome series. I think I have about one storyarc left and it really upsets me that it is going to end with issue 23.
Wednesdays are awesome because they are comic days and I love comics. So, I'm always happy on Wednesdays. It's nice to come home after school and see that there are comics to read.

Among others, I got X-Men: Die By The Sword #2 (of #5) this week. I reviewed the first issue some time ago and I still think the first issue is awful. But I want to see if it can get worse. The only issue released today that I read till now is X-Men #204 by Mike Carey and Mike Choi and like the entire Carey run, it was great but what I'd like to point out is the close friendship he has been establishing between Bobby and Sam which is nice. And Choi's art is just incredible. It is realistic and that's a stark contrast to the last few issues that were more comic-y. Some of the male characters look somewhat like women, especially Mister Sinister (confession: I was about to write Sinestro) in a few shots.

There is one double splash page of what is going on in Rogue's mind that is ... I can't find words for it. I won't write about this issue too much, though, because it's too soon having been released just today, but I can only praise Carey and Choi over and over again and hope that Choi stays on the title.

I still have some old, classic X-Men to read because in the CGS Book of the Month of August, it was all about the Dark Phoenix Saga and I am somewhat late when it comes to CGS because I have all those podcasts I listen to and I'm still trying to catch up with the episodes I missed while I was in Chile and there are always so many comics to read. For example, I have just gotten into American Virgin and Army@Love.

Anyway, I've got an exam tomorrow and I still haven't figured out what exactly I'm supposed to learn for it. Conny told me today, but it's like, it's mostly so obvious stuff you don't really have to prepare for. I will read my notes and some of the many, many, many copies the teacher handed out because there is no chance we'll get an economy book before Christmas.

Livejournaleintrag vom  2. Juli, 7.10 Uhr in Chile
I´m hurting overall, but at least I´m not awake all the time. Some cool things I´m not used to are the glowing panels that indicate whether or not the lavarotries are occupied, so that you don´t have to stand in front of the toilet waiting.
When taking off (we are taking off from Sao Paulo right now), the monitors in front of our seats showed the take'off in real'time and still is but right now it´s not that interesting because it´s only cloudy and foggy. But thte idea itself is interesting, I have to admit that.
Their food is a lot better than what Varig usually offers, but then again, Varig isn´t known for having a fantastic overall service. But let´s not get into that or my mother will kill me as Varig is holy to her.
I´ve been having quite interesting dreams in the last fews days that don´t make any sense but I wanted to mention it just for the sake of it.
We are flying above clouds right now. Nothing but a wall of clouds, literally. And there are black spots in these clouds that look like snowÑ gigantic mountains that are above the clouds. I´ve never been on a mountain that was so high that you were kind of on cloud'level, but Gianluca told me how he had been on Mount Vesuvius once and that it was like that and back then )it was in 2001, I think=, I found the idea of touching clouds fascinating.
On our journey, I have watched ¨The Painted Veil¨starring Edward Norton and Naomi Watts and it was pretty okay. I had heard a lot about it, from the critics and so on, but I didn´t think it was that fantastic. Of course I kept an eye on Norton and I can see him as a very interesting Bruce Banner in the upcoming ¨Incredible Hulk¨ movie. And it probably helps a lot that there was a scene in this movie where he was naked and you saw everything but his lower extremities and the man´s bum is very nice to look at.
We just got some sheets to fill out which I think I´ll do now, see if they ask any interesting questions like if I was involved in the nazi scene back in the days or plan a terrorist attack while I´m in the country.
No such things, they seem to be a lot more down-to-earth than the Americans.
And we are looking at the interesting list of words Herr Drechsler gave us and making fun of very strange things that we doubt anyone would ever say. There is a very strange term that is translated as ¨to talk about the love life of the worms¨. What the fuck does that mean?! We had some ideas but they don´t really make sense, maybe becauseeral don´t make too much sense. I´m not sure. I myself don´t care about their mating habits.
We still have some hours left until he finally arrive and I think one of the people on this plane thinks I´m totally crazy after I told him about my Neo and that also have a diary and a notebook to make notes about other things )in fact I brought two, but he was already so shocked that I decided not to tell him=.
I read the first two chapters of Alan Moore´s ¨Watchmen¨and I am enjoying myself tremendoulsy. That guy is a genius, I will not argue about that or let anyone tell me differently.
Vanessa started her first diary entry just now, I am considering writing something in my diary as well although there aren´t any really deep and profound things to say except for the fact that I want to get off this plane now. But I think I should do it anyway. Or read ¨Watchmen¨ or ... just something. The content for this entry has expired already, I´m afraid.

Hair ...

Jun. 25th, 2007 05:06 pm
I had my hair cut and just like last time, it ended up being way too short. I thought it would end up longer, but now it's quite short. I am going to take a picture and send it to my grandma and she will phone my mother to complain about her letting me cut my hair this short, especially in the front as there are now bangs falling into my eyes. But that's something I wanted. I love to have some wild bangs in the front that fall into my eyes playfully and the rest of the hair will grow back, it always does. In mid-January when I last got my hair cut, it was only a bit longer than now and it grew very long (too long for me) in a very short time.

At least now showering and stuff won't take that long. Not that it took too long before as I am very practical about my hair. If my hairdo isn't practical any I have to do a lot to get it the way it's supposed to look, it's not the right 'do for me and this one is rather practical.

I took a picture of myself so people could get an idea of how I'm looking right now.

Note: I hate taking forced pictures. I love natural photographs when you are unaware that someone is taking a photo of you, but that's somewhat difficult when you're doing it on your own, so I had to take several, but I am only uploading one.

Various other things: I fucked up at my math test, just like I expected to, but I don't care. Why should I? I have two videos of our experiment in chemistry and quotes, so I'll be posting them later on.

Oh, and I bought the second trade of "Y: The Last Man" that contains issues ... SHIT!! I was so anxious to leave the comic book shop because I always freak out when I'm there that I accidentally grabbed the second trade of "The Authority" instead of "Y". Shit! I need to go ask my mom if we can make up for this because I really don't want to read "The Authority" right now, as among other things I don't own the first trade. Fuck!!! This really sucks. I need to go talk to my mom about it, maybe we can do something about it. "The Authority" costs 2€ more than "Y" ... This really pisses me off!!

I just talked to her. She says that she'll drop by there this week. The conditions for returning stuff are that they are unused and that the customer still has the receipt and I didn't even touch the trade and the receipt is still there, as well, so it shouldn't be a problem ... I hope. I want to read the second trade of "Y: The Last Man".
